Carr Tool History
What do high-quality cutting tools and root beer have in common?
Well, in our case, it was a shared location. Carr Tool Company, founded in 1958 by Charles M. Carr, found its first home at 3810 Hires lane, Cincinnati, Ohio. The 5000 square foot facility was at one time a bottling plant for Hires Root beer.
From the beginning Charles Carr worked hard to establish a proven reputation based on the quality of the company's products and services. With his ideals and philosophies providing a solid foundation for our relationships with customers, Carr Tool's sales continued to grow.

Carr Tool's products have always been custom engineered to meet the unique specifications-and occasionally less than ideal machining conditions-of our customers. To accomplish this, it often became necessary to design the tooling around the process. Thus we learned to build upon and improve tolerances to meet our customers' changing requirements. The capability of our experienced design and service engineers to handle these customers' needs have grown as well.
Recognizing the need of our customers to record and standardize their own manufacturing processes, Carr Tool established an internal, documented quality program in 1987. By meeting the requirements set forth by many automotive and aerospace companies, we became a Ford Motor Q-101 supplier, GM Targets for Excellence supplier, GE Aircraft Engines Supplier of Excellence, and Borg-Warner Qualified Supplier, among others.
In 1997, Carr Tool became an ISO 9001 certified company, an internationally recognized certification of adherence to stringent quality standards. We continue to practice these strict quality standards today.
In 2007 we relocated our operations to a newer, climate controlled facility just north of Cincinnati, Ohio.
